Hi Cat, My name is Nathan and I have two son's ages 5 and 3, and a daugter that is 2. This year both of my sons played T-Ball, so when we went to buy their equipment, I didn't want my daughter to feel left out so I bought her one of your T-Ball, Glove and Backpack combo's. She loves it. She wears her backpack everywhere, and most nights she want's to sleep with her glove. Thanks so much for all the hard work that you do to give young girls a good role model, and the opportunities to play sports in the future. Good Luck in Beijing.

hello my name is robin. i go to school in rohhnert park california and i love softball!!rancho cotati highschool varsity softball has always been undefeated and that's my team. i will be taking over for the senior firs baseman this coming season. i'm so stoked! what position is your favorite to play?? i love to play outfield, but i mostly play first base because everyone says i'm awsome at it.do you slide withno kneepads?? one time i dove back into 3rd with baseball pants and no kneepads underneath and i cut my knee. i hit 4 homeruns this season and i almost had straight A's. im only a freshman in highschool but i already know i want togo to stanford. but i heard stories like one guy, he plays in the band with a 4.8 GPA and failed to get accepted to stanford. what should i do?? where did you go to college?? and when did you decide you loved softball so much you wanted to got to the olympics. that's my dream, to go to the olympics. softball is always on my mind, and i'm always trying to set the baseballteam straight. they insist that baseball is a man sport. it's not!! i'd like to see them try to hit a rise ball!!! i usually pick up on things really quick so i turned on my t.v. and went to "sports school on DEMAND" from there i learned my swing, well actually i'm only trying to perfect it now, but i learned it from your head coach and one of your teamates demonstrated an open and closed stance. it really helped me. wierd, i know but it worked. your so tall ! i'm only 5' 7". i saw you at sonoma state university last sunday. you guys beat the U-23 nor cal asault. it was so crazy!!! then i got my poster sighned by jessica mendoza which was pretty cool. i didnt get yours though, totally should have, im so disapointed i didn't. well anyway, i hope you and the rest of the USA team represent in the 08 olympics and take home the gold. see you on t.v.! later cat!!
  • aggie_24 · 1 year ago
my friend elyse colmenero... yea she threw out caitlin lowe... it was amazing! and she threw out andrea duran at second. I am very proud of her and was super excited that you pitched! I will be going to texas A&M to pitch next year which i am excited about! And as weird as this might sound... one day i hope to be better than you are!! My coach Marty Tyson got you to sign a softball for me and now he is never going to let me live that down but good luck in Beijing and i hope that softball is re-addmitted to the olympics because thats been my dream forever. And going to play at a good college let me feel one step closer so i hope everything works out with that!! And as rival schools i MUST say it!! GIG' EM AGGIES!!

Im also a pitcher and i recently got first team all-conference and i was wondering if you could give me any tips on my drop ball, i know how to throw it, I just cant get the relase down...when i pitch it, it hits the ground like 7 feet in front of me and i dont understand why because i realse in the same spot i do for my fast ball, change up, rise, and curve ball.If you could help me out i would greatly appreicate it! Im also coming to watch the USA team play in Stevens Point on June 17, i hope to see you pitch! And i hope to get your autograph
  • Hunter Royal · 1 year ago
I always enjoy watching you pitch and watching your teams play even though its not always easy to find what channel you're on and when. Small town, Texas makes it a little rough I suppose, lol. Anyways, great to add a personality to that blazing left arm of yours reading your blogs and getting to know you on a fan basis.

My niece has started really getting into softball and with her being a southpaw too, its easy to have you as a role model for her. You play with such intensity, but with a high level of class. Ever since she told me that she wanted to get better and go to college and play softball I've made it a goal to be a positive person with her in that regard. I practice with her as much as I can and pick up tips watching you and the rest of the USA team. I played Baseball for years, but softball is something altogether different for me, lol.

I wanted to say thanks for being a great person for her to look up to. Its rare anymore to have a sports star in the headlines for, you know, GOOD THINGS. =).

Watching you play has even motivated me to consider getting back into playing form and seeing if this catching arm has still got it, lol.

Anyways, the best of luck to you in and out of Softball. My prayers and heart go to you and the Ladies USA team. I'll proudly wave the American flag in honor of you guys.

P.S - Shetland Sheepdogs are great, lovable dogs that can be some of the biggest spazzes, so get your energy ready if you get a pup. Oh, and make sure there's no squirrels around or they're gone, hah.

Before you go out and get a dog, check with these people:

Rescued dogs (and shelter dogs) of whatever breed often require some extra love and understanding to overcome the reason why they are needing rescue. They give back much more. We have 2 shelter dogs. One from the League City shelter and one from SPCA here in Pennsylvania.

Hi Cat. I was wondering if you watched the Little League World Series for softball?
The reason I was wondering is because this year I'm on the 12-year-old All-Stars team so we could make it to the world series!!!!! It would be awesome if you could say if you do or don't in your next blog. I think that if you do watch it and I knew (also my teamates), I would definately want to make you proud.
P.S. If you do watch and my team makes it, I'm one of the pitchers.

This comment has nothing to do with your awesome blog, but i just have to say something..... I think it is REALLY STUPID for people to kick USA out of the Beijing Olympic Softball Game, just because we have won a few times. People have said that we wont be playing in the 2012, but we will be playing in the 2016 because it will get over ruled. I really feel for you. I love you so much, and i will always watch and admire you.

    Dear Cat,
My 9 year old daughter is a big fan of yours ever since she realize you were left-handed and by chance realized ya'll had the exact same brand of bat and glove. She was watching Monica Abbott the other day and realized she was left-handed too. This inspired her because she is left-hand and in our small town of Louisiana, some coaches don't like left-handers, even though she as belted a few home runs down the right field line. She would love to meet you and if you ever have a camp in Tx or La we will be there.
    Thanks for the inspiration,
    Katrina

    Cat,
I went to OKC to see team USA play China, I was hoping to see you pitch. I think you are great, and I have an 11 year daughter who plays softball. She plays catcher, but there's a couple of things that blew me away when I read some of personal information. Stephanie loves the color purple, her number is 8, and she has been nick named Cat at school because of her eyes.
I loved watching the team June 8th. It was exhilirating. I wish you the best when you go to Bejing.
