I never liked softball till i watched a game for the frist time and seen you play and that year i wanted to play softball and be just like you..I'd tell my dad i want to be just like Cat Osterman. When your line came out everything i see with Cat i want... So thank you and your teamates for inspiring me to try a different sport...you are a good woman and an awesome softball player....Hopeful i will get as good as you at softball...good luck and have a very good life

Good Hearing from you again. I'm glad you and everything is ok.Good Luck the rest of the season. Please don't wait so long to write next time. I don't know what to say about you taking the last quarter off from classes so I'll trust that you know what you're doing and that you will still get your MBA. It seems like every time you go out of town there seems to be some adventure to the trip. I'm glad you had a nice birthday and that Tucker is doing well. Hi, Cat. I have been following your career since you were a Sophomore at Texas. I was travelling through Chicago and saw you had a game at Northwestern while I would be there, so I finally got to see you in person. I have to say, it was a thrill to see you ... although I'm sure it would have been more of a thrill to see you pitch rather than seeing you coach first base! Too bad your team didn't have a very good day. Maybe I'll have to make a trip this summer to see you pitch.

Sometimes, you do have to take some time out and reassess your life. So don't feel bad about taking time out from your MBA program. Its something a lot of people have to do, and I'm sure you will be better off because of this. Good luck to you.

Cat, I can sympathize with having your plate filled with too many things. When I was in college, I was scorekeeper for mens basketball, public address announcer for wrestling and hockey, and sports editor of the school newspaper, all at the same time. And oh yeah, I had to go to classes and study too. So when the women's basketball coach asked me to travel with them as their scorekeeper, I had to say no even though that would have been a lot of fun; I just couldn't fit another thing on my plate.

So in my case, not filling my plate further seems to have worked out. I'm sure it will work out for you too.

I didn't mean that I disapprove or not support your decision to take this last quarter off from claasses when I said in my previous post that I didn't know what to say but would trust that you knew what you were doing. I was just shocked that you had been that busy. It's a wonder you didn't kill over. I have ro admire you for wanting to wait and take the classes when you have more time to study and get the good grades you've always got. I still want to see you play someyime soon.

Cat I got the pleasure of seeing your team play in Columbia Georgia. My team got to travel up there and where so excited to see you! Your pitcher told us to call you Monica Abbott and one of girls was brave enough to do it. It was so cool to see you interact with your players. Our center fielder felt like she was in heaven. I just wanted to thank you for taking time out and signing autographs for us even though you had a rough game. It means a lot to my teammates and myself.

Cat, Thanks for being so kind Saturday night to the 11u Virginia Lady Titans at the Embassy Suits at Tysons Corner. The girls are telling everyone they met you and how nice you were. We got rained out Sunday, So we came in first place 4-0 the only undefeated Team. We scored 35 runs and gave up 9. How can I send you a copy of the pic you took with the girls. Thanks again!!!

So I was sitting on my couch watching Notre Dame play Louville to see who will play our Demons in the Final and I thoguht of you because they started talking about you. Then I went online to look for the episode of Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel that had an exclusive on the Dixon family because I never got to see it on tv and we all know how much Maggie is to our Blue Demon family and I saw one with you in it. It was about Softball being taken out of the Olympics. I liked it, especially when you started crying. Well hope all is well!

Hi there Ms Osterman, I live and grew up here in vegas(ever been here?) and i'm actually new to your side of the fence. I grew up playin' football and was good at it. I was always first picked when the captains were drafting us from having our backs to the wall. hehe...being the fastest runner all throughout school made an impact though on those turn outs. Hey Cat! My name is Whitney. I am from a small town in Ohio, called Hillsboro. Anyways, many people around here who we play n high school ball are not left handed but it turns out I am. I recently went to Dicks Sporting Goods to purchase a new glove but they did not have the glove I wanted. Which is the one just like yours. So I was wondering if you knew where I could purchase one because the man at the store told me that they probably stopped making them because he tried to contact other stores to see if they had it but no one did. My daughter really looks up to you in every way. She will be 13 on June 3rd and has been playing ball since she was three years old. She is a great pitcher but her favorite position is catcher but she doesn't get to do that often as she always seems to be needed on the mound but she also loves every position. She always says it doesn't matter to her where she plays just that she is playing the game. She is the kind of kid who whole heartedly gives it her best in every way so I wanted to do something special for her 13th birthday. She was going to have a little gathering with a couple of her other friends but they were wanting to invite older guys that were into a little more trouble than she was willing to subject her friends to so she has decided not to do anything so I was wondering if you had any suggestions. She plays travel softball every weekend so it was impossible for me to sneak in world series tickets for Oklahoma City this week. We will be playing in the youth league world series in Panama City, FL this summer but I wanted to surprise her with something the week of her birthday. Just open for any suggestions due to her being a great fan of yours.

Hi Cat I am in grade 6 and i am doing a biography on you and i need to know wht you are currently doing. I am pitching right now i have been pitching since i was about 9. This summer i am going to chicago illinois, which is where my aunt lives im going somewhere to see how fast of a pitcher i am my dad thinks i am about 50 mp but i think i am more like 15 mp. The previous winter i did a pitching clinic with Mark Smith do you know him? by the way i am from Nova Scotia well anyway plz reply

Cat, I've followed your career at UT (I'm an ex.) and with the USA team. I'm probably the oldest living groupie of any athlete. It appears that you will play for Akron again this summer, even though Washington folded and the league is down to four teams. I could ask this question of the legue (I know their answer before I ask it), but I prefer a player's viewpoint. Do you think the legue will survive? I would love to have a pro team in Texas.

Hello Cat-
I have to tell you my daughter Dani is a huge fan...She is 8 yrs old and 5 ft tall to give you an idea most 12/13 yr olds are 5 ft. She is in her 2nd season of softball and pretty darn good.. She has played competitive soccer 4 yrs and I have to tell you I have never seen her so excited about an athlete as she is you. She is working on pitching she wants to badly to someday play for the FL gators.. She is also a lefty and has found it very difficult to learn from right handed coaches. Any suggestions on where we might find a good girls pitching coach in Tampa, FL that might help her? Thanks so much for your help in advance. Good Luck as you kick off your season with Rockford today. I was in Chicago this past weelkend and drove by Depaul for the first time. It looks like a nice school. I'm enjoying your more frequent updates on Twiitter. Are you going to play for Team USA in the World Cup or are you staying in Rockford this summer? The picture of the Rockford Peaches uniforms was cute but I don't know how anyone could play ball in them.

Hey Cat i just had a question for you about playing. i am currently playing for a travel team and always find myself at the end of the batting order because i cant seem to get a good bat. no matter how hard i practice i cant pull the ball as a lefty better. please help me out

Opening Day, 16 K's!!!!! Wow you are so on it!I can't even Fathom the Spin you produce coming at me, especially at the velocity you have. hey.
i dont know if you read these or not.
but all my coaches && all my teammates && everyone calls me the cuture cat osterman.
i been pitching since i was seven years old.
im 14 now.
i pitch for my varsity team in high school.
but i wasnt originally suppose to because i only JUST finished up middle school && they said that only if the girl is really good you can bring her up to play with varsity.
so yeah.its really weird because everyone tries to tell me
that i look like you
in which i surely DONT.haha.

She is doing just fine. I agree it's annoying to try and watch the Thunder games on the computer. She's been in New Jersey on a recruiting trip then she will hook up with the Womens National Team for the Canada Cup July 3-12 then go to Oklahoma City for the World Cup July 16-20. She is a little sunburned right now after 12 hrs of softball yesterday but other then that she appears to be doing quite well.

I'm a pitcher for my softball team we had a game last night and we won 18-8!!!!!!! It's so much fun to pitch but its alot of hard work!!!!
You have to practice every day basicly!!!! On my team there is only 2 pitchers (me and my BFFE) We both look up to you and went to one of your games in Akron!!! You pitched the last couple ennings!!!! And you guys won!!! It must be hard to pitch against your team mates from the olympic team!!!! c u l8r!!!!

Hey Cat. I've looked up to u ever since u started pitching at UT. My team was lucky enough to place fourth at our district tournament. We were the best non-travel team there. Next year I may not be with my hometown team. I may try-out for the team that beat us in the tournament. I was so lucky that we got to pick our number. In the past two years my number was 8. So this year i pick my lucky number. 8. Your awesome. Continue to believe in yourself. Never give up.

Cat, I just had to tell you that my team just placed 3rd in the Midwest Championship in Kansas City, MO. The tournament went Thursday all the way to Sunday. My team did really good.
