Good hearing from you again. Please be careful and don't let yourself get too exhausted or you'll get sick. Trust me I'm writing that from experience. I'm sorry classes aren't going as well as they should be. Just hang in there and study whenever you have a chance and you'll do ok. I believe in you. Congratulations on how Depaul is doing so far. I'm sorry you didn't get to enjoy Vegas any more then you did. It's a bummer the trip to Georgia was all postponed but the one game. I was actually looking forward to you all playing Nebraska this morning as I am a Husker fan That game would have tested my loyalties a little bit. What classes are you taking now? Well, I know I missed my once in a lifetime chance to say hi to you?! I was at that applebees the other night in? I saw you stand up to leave, and I said to myself " dude she's really tall?" but then i saw your face and thought to myself, man i know her from somewhere? it wasnt till after you walked out i realized i missed a lifetime opportunity to meet you! i think you awesome! and wish i of had the chance to watch you all play, but see im in the army stationed at ft benning, as a drill instructor so i dont get a whole lot of time to much of anything either! but, i will say that just seeing you, if that was even you? made my really long exhausting day!!!

I play on a fastpitch college prep team in spokane washington and i am 13 years old. pitching has always been a dream of mine and i was wondering if it is too late to start. the pitchers on my team have been pitching for years and years and i just don't know if i could do it.

You could do it!!! im 13 and i started pitching last year because of the lack of pitchers!!
My dad coached my team and we got first place in the league!! it is never to late to start!!

hey Cat, Congrats to the team they are doing so great! In my opinion it's due to you, and of course the other staff. Hang tough with you're classes, by the way what additional classes are you taking? I know you will do great ! You are so smart. Best of Luck on the upcoming Fullerton trip! I keep checking ESPN for the games. But none so far, that i can tell. Hey, cat i know I haven't written to you in a long while but I've been really busy preparing for my softball season. Of course I practice off season but now getting almost within a month of our first practices I've really been throwing a lot of pitches!!!! It's a really good thing I enjoy it. I know a lot of people have told you that you their inspiration or their idle and I'm sure that they mean it; but I really do look up to you and I respect all the work you do.(in school and softball) You are my true idle!!!!!

I really don't get upset very easily.(really no joke) Once I heard about softball not being in the 2012 olypics. I really was in a daze. What does this have to show for the future of the sport. They are crushing the hopes and dreams of young youth everywhere!!!! Not to say that they may bring it back in the next olymics but really is all this hard work really going to pay off in the end. My best friends dream is to be the starting pitcher for team USA. We are very supportive of each other and I will NOT stand for her not to see that dream fafilled. You know what I am sorry if team USA is SOOOOOO awesome that they think there is no point to include it.

I guess I will simply end this in I want to softball back on the list of sports for future olmpics!!! And that I appreciate everything that you do and did including what you did in Bijing. (I am sure your aware of the speculation that errors were purpposly done in the championship, I want to make it clear that I am not sure if that theory is true or not)

well its a good thing that ur starting practice early so then ur fit for the season and beat them all. but u need to be on top of ur game and always win. from one softball player to another... softball is the game we all play and thats uwat we do theres nuthing that will get in our way to get to the top. and win
and if u lose then winning isnt everything and thats wat counts.
so play for yourself and dont let anyone get ur way and go to the top let all out and

Are you feeling any better or are you still exhausted? Have you had a chance to relax any and study in between the Georgia trip and the California trip? Hello... I have been watching you play on old games and you are really good. Whats up Cat, the first time i saw you was in 01 my friend was playing for Dobie and they lost in first round of the playoffs anyway she was telling me about you so we stayed and you kicked but. Now i have a daughter who's 8 playing softball and she knows who you cause my wife and i are huge UT fans and always saw you play so she caught on and now wears and uses your bats cloths. Hi Cat my name is Brooke I'm 11yrs old, 5'9". I was born in NY, but like the saying goes we got here as quick as we could. I am now living in S.Arlington near Mansfield,TX. I have been playing softball since I was 5yrs old, you know T-ball, coach-pitch and machine pitch. Now I play for the 97 Lady LongHorns. I have played 3rd, 1st, and catcher but started pitching because it seemed like the most fun position. My parents got me a coach for about 8months, and he was nice, it was fun with him but I didn't seem to be advancing as fast as I wanted. Then my parents found another coach after 2 visits he made a "Big" difference. Everyone say I have gotten better. I started pitching from my waste, then my new coach changed my motion to your style(over-head). I have better control but still need to work on my speed. Just today we had a team clinic with a former UT pitcher Meagan, she showed me how to better explode towards home plate I'm gonna start practicing it asap. If not asking to much could you possibly tell me what helps to increase velocity. I look forward to hearing from you if your not to busy, and would love to create a friendship via. the Internet till if by chance I ever get the opportunity to get to meet you(dreams sometimes do come true) Thank-You In Advance A Fan In Texas,Brooke.. :)

Het Cat . Hope you had a great Easter. I'm a huge fan like anyone else is. The past 2 years i dreamed of being pitcher on my softball team. This year it came true. My coach asked us if anyone else could pitch. When it was my turn it went into the fence. Although it was bad, it was fast. I couldn't believe it was going to one of our pitchers. To me the pitching staff wasn't the best in the world but it was okay. My number is 8, it's been 8 for the past 3 years. Good luck in the World Cup.

Hi Cat,
I am a mother of a 14 year old daughter, Kim who adores you to high heaven. She met you the summer of 2008 at the "Play the Olympian" softball camp in Kaysville, Utah.
One of her goals is to try and make in on the USA Olympic team in 2016. But, just last week she tore her ACL and MCL and she is more upset about not playing softball this summer than she is about blowing her knee. She cried when the Dr. told her she had about a year of no play at all. (in any sport) As a mother, I also cried. She is a very tough young women, at 13 years and 360/365 (as she would put it) she has some goals in life that I don't think some girls her age are even thinking about. Sorry to babble on about her...but...
I just wanted to know if you would email her and let her know she will be okay and she needs to take it one day at a time. I know she needs some cheering up and you came to mind. Like I said, she wants to follow your footsteps, she even has talked about applying to UT. (crazy huh?) I'm proud of her and her goals.

Hi my name is Devan and im 12 years old. Im also a pitcher and I finally get to pitch in every tournament. I used to be the 4th pitcher and never got to play but now they see that im not the fastest but I can put the ball any where that I want (which is pretty cool :) ). My teams name is Spoiled Bats and i've been on it for 5 years. Im really sad that I cant go to the Oklahoma City games this year because I went last year and it was awesome, but the reason I cant go is because the weekend after that my softball team is playing in the USSSA in Kansas City and were staying there for a whole week!

Hi, first of all I LOVE BASEBALL I usually play in the summertime, and my mom was a fast pitcher and she wants me to follow in her foot-steps and I would love nothing more then to do just that. But the thing is, I kinda don't have no control over the ball, and I just don't wanna go out there and hit people, that wouldn't be good, I have good speed and it spins but it just don't go where I want it to, what should I do?

Hi Cat....I just wanted to thank you again for autographing my two daughters gloves when you were out here in South Bend with DePaul. I am originally from Texas and the Longhorns have always been my favorite college team. I follow just about any sport the Longhorns have. My oldest daughter just started playing fast pitch softball last year but she loves it and is wanting to be a pitcher someday. Her little sister is always at her games and practices so now she's starting to play too. They tell me they want to play for U.T. and I would love that but I always tell them they need to keep up their grades in order to be able to go to U.T. Anyway, I also was wondering if you will still be playing professionally or not. If you are, I would love to take my daughters out to see you play. I know my oldest would be so thrilled. I just read the interview you did at UT and what an inspiring person you are! I totally agree with you, Academics is so worth the time and effort that must be put into it. I tell kids that all the time, the sport is important, but the education is the key! You always put 100% in whatever you do, Thankyou for you're wise words, you are wise beyond you're young years. Keep on!

Hey what's up. I know you're busy with classes and softball coming to an end next month. Just wanted to wish you Good Luck with your finals and hopefully you'll have a strong end to the softball season as well with Depaul going to the World Series. Keep hanging in there. Can you shed some light as to what is going on at home (Houston) as far as the flooding? Is your family and everything ok? Tell them I'm thinking about them. I'd put a comment on your mom's blog but I've kind of forgot my pass code to blog to her.
