Good hearing from you again. I'm glad you're going to get to be with your family over the holidays and that they're going to keep Tucker for you.. How's classes going? I'm glad you had a good time when you went home to have your highschool jersey retired. That really is an honor and you do deserve it. You've accomplished so much in your softball carrer it's amazing. Be careful driving down to Houston and if I don't hear from you again before Thanksgiving, Have a Happy One. i amso glad to hear that you, had some time with you're family and friends, that is what keeps people sane, with all the travel you must do, and hectic schedule, i just want to wish you and you're family a very Happy Thanksgiving! I recently sent off for a
"Hand signed personalized autograph from you" i just hope they are legit, cuz i just think you are truely the greatest pitcher ever! and you are such a great role model for the young people. Because of you my brothers,cousins etc have become interested infemale sports, they are now fans of volleyball, basketball and of course softball, I guess they never knew, how talented and gifted female athletes are, they were used to watching football thats about it. my Dad is so impressed with you, He and I watched the DVD you made on softball, and he was blown away! He said he understands now why i stayed up all hours of the night to watch you guys at the olympics. the USA womens softball team is, There are no words for how great you'all are. p;ease take care:)

Hey Cat! Im Houstonian like you. I watched you pitching since I was in High School. U always inspired me ! I m deaf and used go to Langham Creek High School. Your pitching always awe me ! Im rooting for you. Have a nice trip to Houston for Thanksgiving. Im stuck here in Washington D.C. until Xmas break. Im telling you that there are ton of deaf women who play softball always talk about you or look up to u. Actually, there have a National Softball Assc for Deaf. HEY anyone with a dream of becoming an insanly awesome softball playerjust like Cat Osterman! Comment what you think is the most important quality that you need when you are a pitcher.


I think that DETERMANATION is one big thing that you need with any dream you may have. Poise and the ability to keep going is also something very important, even under a lot of pressure.

I think that you have to have the desire to keep pushing when your having a rough time. If you truly want something then you work at it as often as you can. You do what you can to improve your self. I have always been told that winners always want the ball when the game is on the line and can handle the presure. I believe it too if you truly have the desire and the heart even if it means messing up you take the oppurtunity to prove your self and to get your feet wet.

Hi Cat! It's great to here from you again! I'm so happy for you because of your jersey retirement! Congrats by the way! And I hope their are some great athletes out there who are looking to become Blue Demons! I hope Tucker is doing well, do you plan on going to Houston for Christmas? I'm so excited for Christmas, just not all the very chilly weather, and a lot of snow! I live in the mid-west so, sometimes we get hit hard with snow! I've always wanted to come see you play up in Rockford, so hopefully we can get tickets to go to a game! Keep pitching! Oh and do you have any advice for me as far as switching from 2nd base to pitcher? I've always wanted to try being a pitcher!

Cat I hope you and your family had a nice Thanksgiving and had some good quality time together. I bet you'll miss Tucker from now until the end of the year won't you? I know the rest of the year is going to be very busy for you. I just want you to be very careful in all your travels and don't push yourself to the point you make yourself sick. hey cat, i just wanna thank you for taking the time to sign a pic for me, i got it today
ups and i was soooo excited that my hands were shaking trying to open it, actually i have it sitting right here next to my computer. you are the greatest ever!!! do you have a best of dvd, you know pitching, interviews current pics etc that would be so awesome, i watch your pitching dvd almost everynight, noone can make a ball move like you do! please take care of yourself, especially with the flu season and busy schedule, you could get worn down, and sick. have fun at your pitching clinic on sunday.

Hi, my daughter, Brianna and I saw you play at the Philadelphia Force game in Allentown,PA. She stood in line to get your autograph on her gym bag for over an hour. Since she has had that bag, she has shown it off to everyone and she has cherished it. Well, just last week, she had to leave it in her homeroom at school, and someone stole it. We were hoping someone would turn it in, but no one has yet. I was wondering if and where I could maybe send you a bag if you would sign it for her. My daughter is 13 and an avid softball pitcher and hopes to one day follow your shoes, you are truly her idol in every way. Is there any way I can make this Christmas dream come true for her by sending you a bag to sign again for her? Thank you for your time!!

Hey Cat, I live in a smaller town and our softball season goes from the end of May my through midst of July or sometimes first week of August. The point is that it is WWWAAAAYYYY to short of a season for me all though with me any season that isn't all year is too short.LOL! I am a softball maniack. I often say to my friends a day without softball is like a day without air. The other day my sister asked me what my favorite part of softball was. I didn't know at the time because I never really singled any part of softball out for being the best. I just thought that well. . . . SOFTBALL together was the best. Then I found an answer I told her the best part was that it is a CHALLENGE and I liked being with my friends. I told her it's the going through the challenges, winning and losing as friends as one big family, as . . . friends that made softball awesome. and the challenge of maybe being on a team with a person you may not like. it doesn't matter though when your on that field. YOU AND YOUR TEAM MEMBERS are one. Over all SOFTBALL JUST PLAIN ROCKS!

I may not be your biggest fan, but I addmire you very much. The possitions that I am most interested in and play are pitcher, shortstop, and catcher. Basically, where ever my coach wants me to play i'll addapt and i'll play the possition. My mother is signing me up for a camp that you and Jennie Finch are going to attend and help. There was more that she said; to many to even remember but I hope the camp will help me for High School. The condisioning, training, and I believe she mentioned pitching? I'm not sure but there was plenty or activities to choose from. Hope to see you at the signing porsion. Can't wait to get that famous autograph that I have been longing to post on my wall. My daughter and I are coming down to the Michele Smith camp again this year and I was wondering if you will be talking to the girls about what it takes to be a top-level pitcher. My daughter is a huge fan! She got to talk to you a little at last year's camp with Crystl and then again in Topeka, KS last summer. She's 12 and will practice if I get her going, but doesn't do it on her own yet. I'm sure if she heard from you what it takes to be good, it would mean much more than me trying to tell her. Also, will you be talking about pitcher/catcher relationships? I think that's something too many youth coaches overlook. It seems like you and Megan Willis worked really well together. We're looking forward to the camp and warm weather! See you on the 28th! Jim

Hi Cat,
Just wanted to say hi and happy holidays. My family met you at your clinic in New Jersey last month. Kaitlyn (the 8 year old that shadowed you all weekend) is my daughter. I just wanted to say thank you for spending so much time with her and being so kind to her. You made such a wonderful impression. You have been her idol since she was 5 but now she feels that you are her friend. Since meeting you, she practices everyday without being asked and will hopefully be ready to pitch this spring for her team. You are such a wonderful role model for young girls. We need more of you in this world. Hope to see see you again soon. Enjoy the holidays.

The biggest issue might be who fills in at second base. Lovie Jung just ran our infield so well, and I think that was overlooked a lot. To lose her and Berg defensively and Bustos, Kretschman and Tairia offensively is going to hurt. Someone is going to have to step up and make a new legacy for themselves.
